Social Media Management Cost: Scope, Deliverables and Comparing Proposals

The same price can describe different work

Social media management cost cannot be judged by post count alone. One proposal may cover publishing supplied assets; another may include planning, filming, copywriting, design, moderation and reporting. Give providers the same brief and compare scope. This guide helps clarify what the business receives and what remains the responsibility of its own team.

Social media management

Write down the deliverables

Specify channels, audience, objectives and content formats. Separate ideas, copy, design, photo and video production, publishing and responses to comments. Adapting an asset for another channel can require extra work. Agree who supplies product information, checks factual accuracy and approves the finished content.

Production matters as much as volume

A static graphic, a carousel and a filmed short video involve different resources. Scripts, shooting days, locations, participants, editing, captions and alternative versions affect scope. Ask whether video means new production or editing your archive. Agree revision rounds and the conditions under which a reshoot becomes additional work.

Separate ad spend from management fees

Distinguish agency fees from money spent on the advertising platform. Check whether campaign setup, audience planning, creative testing and reporting are included. Organic publishing does not automatically include paid campaign management. The business should retain control of accounts and assets, using agreed access for collaborators.

Agree moderation and approval rules

Define service hours, approved product information and the issues to escalate to your team. An agency cannot answer stock or order questions without the necessary information. Prepare response guidance, escalation routes and responsible contacts. Include approval time in the calendar so delayed feedback does not silently change the publishing plan.

Use a comparable checklist

Compare channels, formats, production scope, moderation, advertising work, revisions, reporting, rights and handover. Ask what is excluded and how additional work is priced. Clarify licences and permissions for music, photography, talent and other third-party material. A short written scope is more useful than a package name with no explanation.

Measure the agreed business goal

Choose whether the objective is relevant reach, website visits, enquiries or sales. Likes alone do not describe business value. Assessing leads and sales needs reliable measurement and feedback from the sales team. Results also depend on the offer, seasonality, budget and customer handling; guaranteed sales are not a substitute for a work plan.

Prepare your request

Can you use existing photos? Yes, if quality and usage rights are appropriate. Are daily replies included? Only within the agreed moderation scope. Is a one-off shoot the same as monthly management? No; specify them separately. Send your channels, business type, available assets and goal. INFINITY will prepare an individual scope-based proposal with responsibilities and budget agreed before work begins.
